For this class, I would say the most crucial behavior I've developed is planning ahead. Planning ahead ensures that I have enough time to complete the assignments by their due dates. There have been many moments when I felt like giving up, oftentimes I come home from work exhausted and would do anything just to relax or go straight to bed but I just make myself focus in order to complete my assignments. I do feel that I've developed a tenacious attitude these last few months mainly because that is the only way that I will get where I want to be; I only have two semesters left until graduation and am determined to finish strong.
First, for future students I would encourage that they envision what their goals are in life and how this class contributes to their journey to reach them. Second, I encourage planning; planning is crucial in succeeding in this course because it ensures that work does not pile up on you. And lastly, I encourage future students not to give up, not even for a single assignment! In the end, one assignment might be the determining factor of a grade, it is important to push oneself so there is wiggle room when necessary.

Hey Ashlyn!
ReplyDeleteJust as you mentioned, I also find myself reading the descriptions of the assignments ahead of time so that I can plan my week accordingly since I also work part time. Sometimes, I'll even pull up the assignment at work and get my interviews done there will other employs or even managers if time permits. I like your advice about completing every assignment, just in case something unexpected happens in the future.
I completely understand how easy it may feel like giving up, especially after a tiring work day. But, it is great that you prioritize your work and continue to be determined even in one of your last semesters at UF. This attitude will definitely help you do well, not only in the course, but in life after college.
ReplyDeleteHi Ashlyn,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that this class can be somewhat time consuming, so planning ahead is definitely a very useful skill. I think that the summer can be a busy time for many students at UF. Planning ahead is incredibly important, especially in this class. You are right about not skipping an assignment too, because you never know when you might need those points!
